AND NEW COLLEGE GRADUATES
According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, competition for jobs is fierce and campus hiring is down more than 36%. But the crux of the issue is that more and more college students just don’t know where their interests lay or, if they do, don’t know how to get there from here.
David Rosenblum, for example, is a recent graduate from a Michigan university with a degree in physics and chemistry. David wanted to work in the field of nanotechnology. He was bright and eager to get going, but did not know how to uncover those positions nor did he have a clear understanding of how to market himself.
Lisa Campbell, also a recent college graduate, was less sure of her direction. Lisa received her BA in Sociology. “So now what?” asked Lisa. “I am not even sure that I like the field of Sociology.” Unlike David, Lisa’s coaching journey started with an exploration her interests and talents.
